Work it out

August was the toughest month of football season. It was hot, we were not in top shape and our practice sessions were intense. Not everyone made it through August and those that did were in better shape to play competitively than they were one month earlier.

It’s easy to see how hard work pays off in the natural world. In the book Outliers the author talks about (among other things) it taking 10,000 hours of work experience to become excellent in any given area. Do the math, that’s a lot of days focused in one area.

What is harder for us to do is to walk by faith and not by sight. I once read that faith is believing what God says and acting on it. Exercising the muscle of faith is how it becomes stronger. When Jesus said that He is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the Father except by Him, we are given a faith challenge. Will we believe what God has said and act on it? God is the only One you’ll ever know that does not lie. Trust Him by faith today.

Luke 17:5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
