Privileged

My uncle had a boat on the lake that we used to go on with my father. I remember the thrill of being allowed to get behind the wheel and navigate those waters. I felt privileged.

I’ve met movie stars, rock stars and CEOs that many people might actually envy. How does a kid from Connecticut Avenue (I realize some of you have know idea what or where that is) receive such privilege?

As I mature, I realize that every person I meet and get to know is a special privilege for me. That’s how I feel about you as you read this.

This is especially true when I think of my wife and kids. Any series of events could have precluded my meeting Ibel and if that had happened none of you would know my children. Even as I write this I’m struck with a sense of awe and gratitude.

The most amazing privilege is being chosen by God to be His son. He called me to Him. He revealed how great a salvation Jesus has brought us through His blood that we would be made right with God. And maybe one of the greatest privileges of all is to have Christ in me the hope of glory. He offers this life to everyone though so, I’m not in an exclusive minority. Respond to His call.

Romans 8:30 And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.
