Last night the moon was a deep orange and nearly red at about 8:00 p.m. in Danbury, CT. It was so glorious we wanted to take a picture, so we did. The photo didn’t exactly capture the majesty that had invaded our hearts.
I suppose a veteran photographer with the best camera on earth might have created something a bit more inspirational than my feeble attempt but, there’s always something more than what meets the eye. Fortunately, we had that moment together and the shared experience made it even more precious.
Twenty minutes later, the moon had changed colors and was closer to appearing white. We had moved onto a new moment that was equally beautiful but, not the same at all. Yet, I was feeling like I missed an opportunity to record something that the rest of the world should know about.
The love of God is like that for me. Every moment that my awareness is heightened I want to share it with the world. Still, no one will see it through my eyes or my spirit, it’s personal. Unless you know the love of God for yourself it will be difficult to receive another persons exclamation with all of the weight intended by the messenger. Ask God to reveal His love to you.
There is no greater love than to lay down your life for your friend. That’s what Jesus did for you . It is a love so great you’ll need a lifetime of God revealing the depths of it to begin to gain an appreciation. God’s intention is that you know His love. Receive it today.
“O LORD, your unfailing love fills the earth; teach me your decrees.” Psalm 119:64 NLT
