Sometimes when I wake up in the morning my thoughts take me places no person should ever go. So, I do my best to feed my spirit as a way of fighting off what could be very harmful.
While it’s very good to take care of your body the Bible warns that we don’t want to feed the “flesh”. Another term commonly used is sinful nature. One way I look at it (to keep it simple for this simple man) is to avoid selfishness and strive for generosity.
While I haven’t perfected this lifestyle, God is very interested in helping me get to the place where I’m more and more like Jesus who gave His life away. So, I look to Him to guide me and strengthen me on this journey.
Galatians 6:8-9 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
