Out of nowhere

As the day progressed yesterday, I had forgotten that I had woken up that morning sweating. Somewhere around 2:00 p.m. the pain of a sinus infection started up. By 5:00 p.m. I was hardly able to think straight. This morning I’m still suffering physically but am determined to fight this off.

Last year, almost to the day, I had a similar sinus infection that messed with our anniversary celebration to Cape Cod. Everyday, I’d take whatever vitamins and treatment I could to be relieved of the headache and congestion. Despite how I felt, I was determined to enjoy time away with my family.

It seems that many problems come unexpectedly. Or do they? I’m starting to think that ignoring warning signs is a common human condition. Now I know there are exceptions to this, but, this has been true for many that I know and me. Maybe it’s because we’re fearful.

God’s perfect love casts out all fear. Our Father knows us and guides us in ways that are eternal. Our problems are not initiated by God as some would blame Him for. Instead, He is our ever present help in times of trouble. Run into His loving arms when you see trouble coming.

Romans 8:15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
