Actions speak louder

I was talking with a friend yesterday about how they have felt stuck for the last few years. We talked about how many people have gone to college and majored in one discipline only to end up working in an entirely different field. This person was waiting to know in their hearts what they were going to pursue before investing in an education. And then it happened. They admitted that they knew full well what it was they were meant to do in this life but somehow pursuing it was hindered by some emotional weight.

There are many things I know that I’m called to do but I put them off because my feelings are not aligned with the assignment. I can talk all day about what I should do, but not doing it means it doesn’t get done. Last week I went after the things I knew I had to do and my attitude changed dramatically. Give it a try.

God’s will is that you rejoice always, pray unceasingly and give thanks in everything. Neglecting those activities puts you out of His will for your life. Rejoice that He never leaves you nor forsakes you. Pray to build your relationship with Him. Give thanks that Jesus has died to cleanse you from sin. Just do it.

James 1:22-24 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.
