Make music

singFor as long as I can remember I’ve been making music.  As soon as musical instruments were available at school I was playing the clarinet.  Later, I learned the guitar, saxophone and piano.  All the while, I was singing whenever I could.  Making music seemed to be what I was made for.

Later in life, the cares of this world crowded out the time I had for making music.  I still made music regularly but, it wasn’t the priority it used to be.  In fact, it became more of a way to make some money and possibly win some people over.  The beauty of the art form was obscured by making a living.

All of us were born with a song in our hearts.  Many of us have forgotten the dreams we had as young people.  It’s not too late to recapture your passion.  God instilled that passion in you as a young child (even if you were told you’d never make a living out of doing it).  I’m not talking about the lusts of the flesh but, the design of the Master.

You may be too busy in your spirit to rest and listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying to you right now.  Find a place to quiet yourself down and listen to what He’s calling you to do.  Most likely, it will be aligned with what you were created to do in the first place.  Give back to God what He gave you in the first place.  Delight yourself in Him and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Ephesians 5:15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
