Dress code

ImageSomewhere along the line “business casual” crept into corporate offices. Prior to that, we men were wearing ties to work. When I went into business for myself I had customers that still adhered to a formal dress code and others that had embraced a more casual look. As a vendor, I had to dress appropriately for each environment though it was never a problem to be overdressed when visiting a client with a relaxed code.

Every morning we have to decide what we’re going to put on. The Scriptures speak of clothing ourselves with humility, love and Christ Himself. When we greet each day with love in our hearts everyone wins. No matter where we go and who we see today, love never fails.

I love how the Bible speaks of our relationships being in harmony when we put on love. While I love a good soloist, I’m drawn to groups that demonstrate great vocal harmony. It’s such a beautiful picture of what life is like when we pursue right living.

Jesus is the head of his body. He leads the way and has demonstrated the power of love through His obedience in going to the cross for our sin. Our assignment is to further His kingdom by overcoming evil with good. Be a lover.

Colossians 3:14
Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
