Ripple effect

Earlier this week I was stung by a bee on my right bicep. It hurt. There was no sign of a stinger left behind so I squeezed all of the venom out of the puncture that I could and prayed. The next day my arm was swollen, hard to the touch and filled with heat. My entire being was affected by this bee sting. I was distracted and felt like I was off of my game.

I thought of how an entire household or organization is often thrown into chaos when one member is suffering. Sometimes that person causes others to suffer because of their suffering. You’ve heard the saying, “Hurt people hurt people.” Healing is available in the atoning sacrifice of God through Christ.

Christians are all a part of the body of Christ. We’re meant to function well together. Forgiveness precedes the miraculous. Compassion is not only appropriate but mandatory if we’re to know the fulness of God. Be part of the healing.

1 Corinthians 12:26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
