Like a moth to a flame

There are so many sayings in our everyday language that we use without knowing its origin. We’ve sat around having short bursts of discussion around this and it seems like there’s an endless supply of quirky sayings. “Like a moth to a flame” came to mind this morning as I was reading and praying. Out of curiosity I went searching for the scientific reason for moths being drawn to light. I found this page and realized it’s just the way they’re designed.

I was drawn to Jesus as the “tax collectors and sinners” were. There was no doubt in mind that I was “one of them”. I needed a Savior and a path out of darkness. In thinking about this I think it’s so cool that Jesus proclaimed that He is the light of the world in John 8 and 9. Draw near to Him and listen very carefully to what He is saying. You won’t be disappointed.

Luke 15:1 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him.
