Do you believe in miracles? I’ve seen some rather amazing things happen in my life that can only be explained as an act of God.
Today is Ascension Day in the church calendar. Now THAT is a miracle. Just imagine for a moment witnessing Jesus being taken up into a cloud and then having two angels appear to explain what’s going on. I suppose some will scoff at the thought of this but, I don’t.
The bigger idea for me is grappling with what my life response to this miracle is. I ask myself, “When Jesus returns, what will I be doing? How will I be living and thinking?” Since that day could come at any moment, I’m compelled to live a life of love for Him and others.
Acts1:9-11 After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him. As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”
