John Lennon and company sang the famous song “All You Need is Love” and we all sang along in full agreement. That sentiment rings so true deep inside of us, it’s hard to refute. Yet, we’ve all withheld love and have had times where we longed for it ourselves.
Most of us will pay our debt to the IRS today and the large majority will not be doing it out of love. There’s a debt we owe to our family members, friends, co-workers and community that we should pay as well.
The penalty for non-payment of this debt is less obvious than the interest and penalties the government would exact from us. The cost of not giving the love we’re called to give is a cold heart and separation from God Himself (who is Love).
Go on the great adventure of loving every person you’re in contact with today. Make the effort to love those people you haven’t talked to in a very long time.
Love Fulfills God’s Requirements
8 Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.
