More than a passing look

ImageSomewhere around 1994 a group of us traveled to Russia to serve the people there. One day we were able to go to The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. There are over 3 million pieces on exhibit there and each of them is magnificent. There was no way we could see everything but, what we saw was breath-taking.

I find that unless I “stop and the smell the roses”, I won’t even know they have a fragrance. There is so much in life that is not appreciated because we don’t slow down enough to acknowledge them. There is only so much time that we each have to enjoy. It is better spent on adoration than rushing through life’s demands.

Jesus Christ came to be the greatest blessing mankind could know. He spoke intentionally to bring joy to others. The fountain of love God has for you is inexhaustible. Drink deeply.

John 17:13 Now I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy.
