Chuck Dudley was my guitar teacher in the early 70s. I loved to hear him play the guitar. He taught me techniques and music theory that I still use today. He was also great to be with and a real encouragement to me.
Every so often someone asks me to help them with something I have experience with. This ranges from musical instruction to overcoming setbacks. When I need help, I go to people I trust and believe they have the background to give me good direction.
Jesus shed His glory and humbled Himself to be a man. He faced the same issues of life that we do. The maker of heaven and earth is our help in times of trouble. No one understands us or our situation better. No one is better suited to save you, strengthen you and build you up. Trust Him.
Hebrews 4:14-16 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
