Before we were married, Ibel and I were walking around Landmark Square during the lunch hour. As we were about to cross the exit of the mall, a car came racing out of the parking lot. We were seconds away from being run down by that car. We thought of how a small increase in the pace of our walk or any other series of events could have put us in harms way. We believe God’s hand was upon us and rescued us. He wanted us here today for His purposes.
There are people around the world facing persecution for their faith in Jesus. Some are tortured and killed. Yet, they never back down from their faith. We’ve read of many miraculous rescues in these situations. These stories inspire and keep us on our knees for them.
At some point we all have to decide whether we trust God with our lives no matter what the circumstances. I know of several people in our circle that are going through horrible ordeals and wrestling with this issue of trust. It’s difficult to trust during the trials if you don’t have a relationship with the LORD to build on. Run to Him now and receive the blessing of knowing Him more fully.
Daniel 3:16-18 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”
