I remember reading about a man named George in a book “Life is So Good” that learned how to read at the age of 95. I believe I heard somewhere that the artist Grandma Moses gained recognition well into her 70’s and was widely acclaimed in her 90’s (see the attached painting – Halloween).
So, here I am in my 50’s often wondering what to do with myself. The day and in and day out of work can often be monotonous. These are the times when I lose perspective on Who I belong to and that I’m made in His image.
So, once again I return to my Father in these quiet morning hours. He comforts, corrects, helps, guides, heals, encourages, protects and loves me (the list is considerably longer than that). Most importantly, I know there is someone I’ll meet today that needs to be loved as I am loved. And that makes all of the difference in the world.
Abram Is Named Abraham
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to give you countless descendants.”
At this, Abram fell face down on the ground.
