As a young man I couldn’t imagine where I’d be, who I would have married, who my children would be or where I’d be living right now. My life had taken a course that was directed by God.
Some of the most joyous moments in life have come unexpectedly. The same is true for the tragic times. Spending my energy on trying to understand why things happen as they do inhibits my ability to be “in the moment” and to trust God with what will unfold next.
Every day I aim at resetting my heart. I look to God, the maker of heaven and earth to direct my steps, always returning to Him when I slip and fall.
Proverbs 20:24 The Lord directs our steps,
so why try to understand everything along the way?
